01/21/22 RAIN OR SHINE, THE VICTORY IS MINE
This cold weather coming in with such bluster reminds me and Martha of former days when the wolf would show up at our door: cold weather no fuel, no food, and living on a very limited income. Our income was a little over half of the national average, and I wasn't Jean-Paul Getty when it came to finances. We sometimes had to literally pray for the next meal and heating fuel.
Martha never complained. We never regretted our hardships.
We still go through trials and we expect difficult times in these
troublesome days ahead, but we do rejoice in times of plenty. As Paul
said,
Philippians 4:11-13
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in
whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be
abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am
instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to
suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
We have had moments of hard trial but relatively
little compared to many other people. But the days ahead are going to
bring heavy testing. We need to be prayed-up, look up if we want to be
ready to go up.
Titus 2:11-15
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should
live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity,
and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
