1/3/22 BE BIBLICAL, NOT GIMMICKY

Don't be part of the gimmicky religious crowd, be Biblical. Don't get all excited over gimmicks for ministry, for devotion, for service, for Christian work. Anything good that comes along is based on eternal truth. Why wait till a fad follower excites you. Be ahead of the crowd, get in close behind Jesus.
I see people write about their "word from the Lord," and I am amazed. I recently saw someone say that their word from God for the New Year is INTENTIONALITY. They are going to be intentional this year with their life.

AND I WONDER, "What took you so long? That is what God expects from all new believers, from the beginning of their salvation." It isn't a new idea, it is just that they have not been intentional with God and it is easier to claim inspiration or enlightenment than to admit a life of hypocrisy and failure and repent of slothfulness.

We also need to guard against other people's gimmicks for study, prayer, witnessing, which often shows up through "Word of Faith" people. If you are not getting the basics of Christian living and Christian service from your own church, you either need to start listening to your preacher or find a new church if you pastor is not telling you the whole counsel of God.

This is why it is good to have wise leadership and to be wise enough to seek that leadership as you follow God's will for your daily life.

How sad to get your spiritual encouragement from others, when your own spiritual family has the substance and course for spiritual success. Not to mention that often the "special insight" of other people is off course and even detrimental to you, your family, your church and the world God wants to reach.
