07/06/22 UNDERSTANDING SOVEREIGNTY
GOD BEING IN CONTROL DOES NOT MEAN THAT GOD TAKES METICULOUS CONTROL OF EVERYTHING, ALL OF THE TIME. (This is not shouting, this is emphasizing.)
Cults redefine Biblical truths.
JW's say that Jesus is "a God;"
Mormons say, "God the Father was once a man, even as we are men, but He became a God;"
Calvinists say, "Sovereign means God decrees everything and meticulously controls everything all of the time, even corruption and spiritual rebellion."
The truth is:
Jesus is God, He is not "a" god.
God the Father was not a man, as we are men and He did not become a god.
God is Supreme Ruler; He is Absolute King, but God has not decreed evil and He is not the author of confusion, disorder. Instead, God is in control, but He does not take control away from those, to whom He allows limited control.
The sovereign God can do whatever He chooses to do.
His choice of actions always agree with His nature and His eternal character.
God can do whatever He chooses to do, but God does not lie, God does not sin, and God cannot lie and God cannot sin because lying and sinning are contrary to the nature and eternal character of God.
God cannot and has not created, and will not create sin, disorder, chaos.
The fact that God is not the Author of confusion, disorder, chaos, yet there is confusion, disorder, indicates that Divine sovereignty does not deliberately take meticulous, constant, control of everything, all the time, but He is still in control and He will use and judge chaos for His own purposes and glory.
Not all things that happen to us are from God's perfect will, but when bad things happen to us, God who is in control, works all things, even the things He did not create, for our good.
God did not create sin, but He limits the power of Satan and God will one day assign Satan and temptation and sin to eternal separation and He will judge all sin and all sinners and assign them to eternal judgment and punishment.
Divine sovereignty does not determine God's nature or His will. It serves His nature and His will.
Don't confuse Divine authority and power with His use of power and authority. God's sovereignty is the expression of God, not the rule over God.
