08/08/22 DO YOU HEAR HIS CALL

I wonder how many homes God visited in the middle of the night, calling the name of young Israelites before going to Eli's house and calling the name of Samuel?

Of course, He might not have called on anyone else, if He knew they would not answer.

Or He could not have visited, because He did not have a call for any of them.

More importantly, I wonder how many He calls on today, whether in the middle of the night, sitting at table, on the job-site, sitting in Bible study, worshiping, praising, praying.

I wonder how many are stone deaf to God's voice.
I wonder how many hear Him but don't realize Who it is or they don't realize the urgency.
I wonder how many hear and deliberately turn a deaf ear.

I wonder how many hear the voice and call of God, but seek guidance from their parents, only to be told to go back to what they were doing, and maybe respond at a later time.

Or maybe the parent did not believe it was an actual visitation from God or an actual call from God and they just shrugged the child's question off.

I wonder how many young people hear and recognize and understand the visitation and the call of God, but they have other things to do at the moment or they are determined that the call of God is not something they are interested in, at all.
