08/15/22 Still applicable to people today.

Deuteronomy 11:16
(16) Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

Notice:
Take heed to yourself.
Make certain your heart (inner man) will not be deceived (beguiled, led astray),
Or, turn aside from the true and living God,
To serve other gods,
And worship other gods.

All of these are clear, New Testament directives from God.

Otherwise the New Testament would say,
"There is no need to take heed or be concerned about making your election certain, and it is not possible for you to be deceived into turning away from God, to serve other gods, or worship other gods.
