The Shema, Deuteronomy 6:4
4 "Hear O Israel, the LORD (Jehovah) our God (Elohim) is one LORD (Jehovah)."
The fundamental and early confession of the Church.

New Testament parallel to the Shema, 1 Corinthians 8:5-6
5 Though the world has many so-called gods
6 "Yet there is but one God (theos), the Father (Pater)..., and one Lord (kuros) Jesus (Iesous) Christ (Christos), by Whom are all things, and we by Him.

God is Father, God is Son, God is Holy Spirit. These these Divine Persons are included in the title of the One God, Elohim. But the focus of this article is to point out that the Father and the Son are both God and that the 1 Corinthian passage corresponds to the Deuteronomy passage.
