01/06/22 HERE ARE NOTES TO THREE VIDS. IF YOU CAN, TRY TO WATCH VIDS ALSO especially #3
#1 of 3 INTRODUCTION to the BIBLE VIEW OF HEAVEN AND HEAVENS.
NOTES
The main point is that the Bible reveals that there are HEAVENS. I
address this and at the end of this presentation I illustrate the Three
Heavens revealed in the Bible.
The word, "heaven" is used by Christians and other religions in
reference to the after life and the home of God and angels. However,
different religions mean different things by the same word. Some of the
beliefs about heaven are found in various religions. BUT THE ONLY
TRUSTWORTHY INFORMATION IS FOUND IN THE BIBLE, SINCE THE BIBLE IS GOD'S
WORD. This brings up another subject (The Authority of the Bible), but
that is another lesson. Religions, cults and even those who call
themselves Christian have many beliefs that are contrary to the Bible.
HOWEVER, a proper understanding of heaven must be found in the Bible.
Do not believe reports from anyone who tells you that they have been to
either heaven or hell. They may believe that they have been there, but
they have not. God gave very few Bible writers an actual revelation of
Heaven. The best thing to do, when someone offers you any EXTRA-BIBLICAL
information (information not from the Bible) is to shut it out, don't
listen to it or read it. It is the misinformation of darkness. Only the
Bible is the revealed, authentic, genuine, inspired, infallible word of
God.
God does not give anyone today REVELATION. Revelation is what God gave
to the Bible writers. We do not get REVELATION, WE GET ENLIGHTENMENT.
Revelation is what God gave to the writers of the Bible (Prophets and
Apostles) Enlightenment is what God gives to the readers of the Bible.
There is NO NEW REVELATION. No one can add anything to the Bible today.
God does speak to us, but He does not speak to us in the same way He
spoke to Prophets and Apostles. Whatever He says to us must agree with
the Bible but nothing He says to us is as authoritative as the Bible.
Scripture was infallibly communicated by God to men who were enabled by
God to receive it and write it without error. We are not inspired,
in-breathed, guided in the same way as Bible writers.
The Bible says there are Three Heavens.. These three heavens are not to
be confused with the fanciful three heavens of Mormonism or the 7
heavens of Islam or any other extra-Biblical teaching.
Paul actually did refer to the, "Third Heaven."
Paul did not even make himself the subject of his account.
Paul did not reveal the things he saw and heard.
Paul pointed out that those heavenly realities were not even communicable.
Paul only communicated to us what God allowed him to communicate.
This agrees with other Bible writers who had similar experiences.
Don't trust anyone's words in the same way that we trust God's word.
Mormons teach that there are three heavens. The three heavens of
Mormonism has nothing to do with the Third Heaven of the Bible and has
no relationship to the "Heavens" taught about in the Bible.
The Three False Heavens of LDS
The three heavens of Mormonism are:
CELESTIAL (their highest heaven), the heaven or afterlife of fully
dedicated and qualified Mormons. These are the people who will become
gods or wives of gods. Mormons teach that Mormon men become gods. They
claim that God the Father was once a man as we are men, but he became a
god. They believe there are many gods with many worlds like our world
and they believe that men today will become gods, and will have their
own worlds.
TERRESTRIAL (the mid-level heaven) is the afterlife for religious
people, other than Mormon and also for Mormons who did not fully follow
Mormon rules.
TELESTIAL (the lowest or least heaven) is the afterlife of other people who were not religious or virtuous.
Though they use the same words as Christians use, Mormons not only have a
different heaven than the Bible presents, they have a different Jesus, a
different Holy Spirit, a different gospel, a different "salvation,"
because they do not believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallibly
inspired and only word of God. They claim to believe the Bible, but they
only believe the skewed interpretations of Mormon leaders. They also
have other, so-called "inspired" writings or books.
Mormons teach that those who do not find Mormon salvation in this life
will be given another chance, a second chance in the afterlife. This is
another false doctrine of LDS.

THE THREE HEAVENS OF THE BIBLE (see video)
First Heaven is the Atmosphere around the earth.
Second Heaven is the Starry Space.
Third Heaven is the Throne of God.
#2 of 3 The Origin, Nature and Destiny of Humans.
Place of Departed Spirits
NOTES
Genesis 2:7
(7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In order to understand where we go when we die, it is helpful to
understand where we came from and what we are (our origin and our
nature).
God made (formed from something) and created (brought from nothing) us
as Body, Soul and Spirit. Though there is a difference in Soul and
Spirit, I will use these terms interchangeably or simply say, "outer
man," or "inner man."
Our body is the physical part of us, which God formed from the dust of
the earth. The Body is our "other awareness" (awareness of other people
or things), through the five senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting,
touching).
Our spirit is the spiritual part of us, which God imparted by breathing
His Spirit into us. The spirit is our, "God conscience part of us."
Our soul is the union of physical and spiritual life. Some refer to this
as self, and it is our self awareness. The five components of the soul
are; Reason, Emotion, Desire, Conscience and Will.
The union of these three components makes us into a Psycho/Physical
Totality. Simply stated, we are inner man and outer man. We are not
complete as a physical being and we are not complete as a spiritual
being. God made us inner and outer and God created us to be a union,
combination of the inner man and the outer man.
Adam and therefore the human race is a combination of the inner and
outer man. Jesus was physical and spiritual. When He died physically,
His spirit was separated from His body, but in His resurrection His body
was reunited with His spirit. The is the plan and standard of human
existence. We will die and then be resurrected, or if we are caught up
in the Rapture, then our bodies will be changed instantly. We are
physical and spiritual creatures.
Genesis 1:26-27
(26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
(27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 2:7
(7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Man is a Trichotomy, a three part being.
"ELOHIM" REVEALS TRIUNITY OF GOD
God said, "Let us make man in our image."
God was not speaking to angels. It was a conversation between the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The "US" in this passage was the
Triune God (One God in Three Persons).
In Genesis 1:1 we are introduced to God, but in the Hebrew the name is
Elohim (as seen in the suffix, IM), which is a plural of God, therefore
it could be translated Gods. However, the Bible clearly teaches that
there is only One God. This passage does not simply point out the
greatness of God, it introduces us to the Trinity. God was saying, "Let
us make man in our image." We see this again when God dealt with the
people in Babel, while they were building the Tower.
Genesis 11:7-8 God said...
(7) Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
(08) So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
When a person dies, his body returns to the dust and his spirit is
separated. The spirit of the saved goes to be with God, and the spirit
of the unsaved goes to the Place of Departed Spirits.
Ecclesiastes 12:7
(7) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
From the time of Adam until the resurrection of Jesus (approximately
4,000 years), death would separate the body from a man's spirit. The
body would go to the grave, and the inner man would go to the Place of
Departed Spirits (Sheol, Hades, Hell).
There will come a time that all bodies will be raised from the dead.
John 5:28-29
(28) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
(29) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the
resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the
resurrection of damnation.
The resurrection of believers will take place
The resurrection of the righteous will take place at the time of the rapture. Dead in Christ will rise first then the rapture.
1 Corinthians 15:50-55
(50) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
(51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this
mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
(13) But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them
which are asleep (physically dead, not soul sleep), that ye sorrow not,
even as others which have no hope.
(14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
(15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are
alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent
(precede) them which are asleep.
(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:
(17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever
be with the Lord.
(18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:1-6
(1) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were
dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands,
eternal in the heavens.
(2) For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
(3) If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
(4) For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for
that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be
swallowed up of life.
(5) Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
(6) Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
Jesus, the God-Man, died physically and His body was buried in the
borrowed tomb. However, His spirit was separated from His body and His
spirit went to the Place of Departed Spirits, known to the Hebrews as
Sheol, to the Greeks as Hades, and generally referred to as Hell.
Ephesians 4:8-10
(08) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
(10) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Jesus did not go to the Place of Departed Spirits to be punished, to
suffer or to convert lost spirits. He went to Sheol, Hades, Hell in
order to announce His victory over sin and death, and to bring the souls
of the righteous dead out and take them to heaven with Him.
1 Peter 3:18-19
(18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the
unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh,
but quickened by the Spirit:
(19) By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
When Jesus arose from the dead, He raised some of those who were dead and buried, to walk with Him in Jerusalem.
Matthew 27:51-53
(51) And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top
to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
(52) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
(53) And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Those who were raised at that time are the First Fruits of the
Resurrection of the Righteous. He not only raised some of the Old
Testament Saints physically at that time, He released all of the
righteous from Sheol (Hades, Hell) and took them to heaven. From that
time on, the spirits of all of the righteous (those who die in the
Lord), go immediately to be with God when they die.
Since Jesus conquered death and the grave, and has taken the Old
Testament believers to heaven, there is no part of Sheol (Hades, Hell)
that holds any believers, therefore, the Place of Departed Spirits
(Sheol, Hades, Hell) is only occupied unsaved people, from the time of
the first family until today. Hell is often related to the idea of
Gehenna, the Valley of Hinnom, which was a notorious place of child
sacrifice. It would become a garbage dump and Jesus referred to its
fires, which never go out, thus the imagery of hell.
The part of Sheol that received Old Testament believers was known as
Abraham's Bosom. Abraham is known as The Friend of God and He is known
as The Father of the Faithful, therefore it is easy to see why people
would call that pre-heaven location after Abraham. It was also known as
Paradise. Remember, Jesus told the repentant thief on the cross that he
would be with Jesus, in Paradise that day. Since Jesus went to the safe
part of Sheol at His death and He did not ascend to heaven until days
later, then we know that Jesus was telling the thief that he would go to
Abraham's Bosom (the safe part of Sheol). Later, during the ministry of
the Apostle Paul, Paradise was located in the heavenly presence of God
(2 Corinthians 12:4) and still later, John tells us that the Paradise of
God is located in heaven (Revelation 2:7).
Sheol continues to be the temporary destination of all lost people. It
is the place of torment, the place of an unquenchable fire, the place of
misery, until it is moved to the Lake of Fire, which is the final
destination of all the unsaved.
Jesus has led the way to the presence of the Father.
Hebrews 4:14
(14) Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into
the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Hebrews 8:1
(1) Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such
an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the
Majesty in the heavens;
The Origin, the Nature and the Destiny of man is that the body goes from
dust to dust, but Spirit returns to God and after wards there is
judgment for the unsaved.
The believer will not enter into judgment for his sins, since Jesus has
taken away our sins and our judgment and our punishment. But those who
do not believe on Christ for salvation will be held accountable for
every sin committed, whether thought, word or deed.
#3 of 3 THE ABODE OF THE DEAD, THE PLACE OF DEPARTED SPIRITS, THE REALM OF THE UNSEEN.
In this video I will discuss the meaning of the words, Sheol, Hades,
Hell, The Grave, Gehenna (Hell Fire, Torment), The Pit (the Abyss),
Paradise (Abraham's Bosom).
What does the Bible say about the location of the afterlife?
Look at the account of the beggar, Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:18-31).
Notice...
The rich man who fared sumptuously every day and the hungry, sore covered beggar.
Social, economic, academic success is not an indicator moral, spiritual condition.
In death the rich man went to torment and the hungry, sore ridden beggar went to a place of comfort.
It was not based on their outward condition but on their inward condition.
There were three sections to the place of the departed.
Lazarus was in a place of comfort, called Abraham's Bosom.
The wicked man was in a place called Hades, hell, a place of torment.
There was a pit, a chasm, an abyss that separated them.
Though they were spiritual beings, they either enjoyed or suffered conditions that were described in physical terms.
Abraham, who had died about 1850 years earlier, answered the rich man when he asked for mercy.
The rich man sought relief from the beggar.
Abraham called the rich man Son (probably because the rich man was a
descendant. Apparently lineage or family is not as important as
spiritual condition.
The rich man asked for someone to warn his brothers, back on earth.
Abraham pointed out that if people do not listen to God's word, then they will not listen to someone from the grave.
Though most religions have the concepts of heaven and hell we must not
allow other belief systems to form our view and we must not allow anyone
to convince us that our view actually comes from a pagan view or allow
them to get us to doubt that heaven and hell are real places, because
the Bible says they are.
SHEOL, the Hebrew word for the Place of the Dead or the Place of the
Unseen. Sheol was where all people went when they died. There was a
section set aside for the righteous, a section set aside for the
unrighteous and a pit or an abyss that was the place of demons.
The GRAVE was another term that referred to the Place of the Dead. Since
the dead bodies were buried there it was natural to think of it being
the place of disembodied spirits. Obviously, dead bodies and the spirits
of the dead are not the same, but the association is easy to
understand.
As we find out in the New Testament, the section occupied by the
righteous was a "holding room," where the righteous waited until they
would be taken to a better place or condition.
We also learn from the New Testament that the section set aside for the
wicked was like a local jail, holding criminals until their court date,
at which time they would be judged and sentenced by a righteous Judge
based on the evidence recorded in books. Then, at the end of this world,
Death and Hell will be cast into the LAKE OF FIRE, which is the second
death (separation) from God and all that is good. The Lake of Fire is
like an eternal prison, from which there is never any escape.
HADES, sometimes translated as hell, the Greek word for the Place of the
Dead. Obviously the Greeks viewed there Hades differently than Jews or
Christians. But remember, sometimes the same words or names were given
different significance by different religions or cultures.
GEHENNA, named for the Valley of Hinnom, which historically was used by
those who burned children in sacrifice to a pagan god. It eventually
became the local area to dump and burn filth and garbage. There was
always a fire burning the city refuse. Jews and Jesus in particular used
that imagery in reference to HELL, the eternal fires of torment.
PARADISE, another name for Abraham's Bosom. When Jesus was dying on the
cross, He was carrying on a conversation with the repentant thief.
Luke 23:39-43
(39) And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
(40) But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
(41) And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
(42) And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
(43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Notice in vs 43 that Jesus told the repentant thief that he would be in
Paradise with Jesus that very day. This could not be heaven (though the
New Testament does place Paradise in heaven at a later date. Jesus was
not going to heaven that day. He was going to the Grave, Sheol, Hades,
Hell, Abraham's Bosom. Jesus was referring to the section of Sheol that
was reserved for the righteous.
While in Paradise, Jesus spoke to the "prisoners" and within a couple of
days He led them out. Within a few weeks Jesus would return to heaven
in His resurrected body. From that point on, Paradise has been part of
the heavenly landscape.
