IT IS UNWISE TO QUESTION ESTABLISHED TRUTH

There are unanswered questions in science, such as: Biology, physics, chemistry, neuroscience, geology, mathematics, genetics, astronomy, psychology, ecology.

YET we engage with these disciplines every moment. In fact, we depend on these disciplines, both their known and unknown factors. Science does not always know the why of something, but they know the dependability of that same issue, and therefore they can plan according to the reliability of that subject.

Modern, educated man does not deny the laws of science simply because there are mysteries and unanswered questions. The expert and the layman alike depend on the unknown (maybe the unknowable).

YET (again) people will deny the existence or the nature of God simply because there are mysteries, unanswered questions, unknown and unknowable aspects of God and His nature.

Remember, God is the fountainhead of truth, knowledge, science. God is greater than all of science, history, information, therefore God is also "beyond the realm of mortal ken."

This helps explain the Biblical truth, "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." Only a fool would deny a truth, simply because it was a mystery or because it was unanswered or because it was unknowable. When it comes to God's revelation of Himself, His nature, His power, His works, don't be a fool. Believe what God' said.

Not only is it foolish to deny the existence of God because of our human limitation, it is foolish to deny truths about God, such as His eternality, asceity, veracity, trinity, omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence.

Of course, there are ideas about God that are not true. This is why we must have an authoritative source of information concerning God, His nature, His power, His works. The only authoritative source is God's Own revelation of Himself in the Holy Bible and in His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ (both of which are referred to as God's Word).

If anyone tried to get yesterday's two services, I am sorry that they were not available. I had designated them to be shown to friends, but obviously I missed an unknown command. Both of those videos are available to my Friends.

My main intention for both sessions (Bible Class and AM Preaching) was to establish the Biblical view of the Trinity and the Deity of Christ. It is simple, but I give quick view of Bible, New Testament and Old Testament passages concerning the concept of One God in Three Persons. Jesus is the Son of God and Jesus is God the Son.

The point of these videos is to lay the groundwork that whether a person believes these truths or not, they are taught and held to be true by the writers of the Bible and those who believe the Bible also accept these truths. The Bible is the authority for Biblical Judaism and Christianity.

Just so you know, there has never been a violent Christian attack on a group, religion, government or individual.

There have been violent actions taken by those who falsely claim to be Christian, and those who are falsely identified as Christian. When I say Christian, I am referring people who have a right relationship with God through Christ and live by God's revelation in the New Testament.

Various religions and governments have taken violent action against their enemies, claiming that the violent actions were Christian, but they acted contrary to New Testament revelation and directives.

Christian violence is a terrible corruption and misrepresentation of Biblical Christianity. It is sad that pastors have not taught the difference between God's directive to the State to use the sword of steel to punish the wicked and protect the righteous, which is different from God's directive to Christians and the Church to wield the Sword of the Spirit in spiritual warfare.

God clearly teaches that Christians do not take violent actions against other people. God uses the State to take violent actions against those who are a threat to the welfare of the people, but the New Testament makes it clear that Christians are subject to Christ and not to the State, when the State commands disobedience to God.

When our church was growing from 100 to 300 people (in a previous pastorate), and we gathered for Sunday services, many folks came in the fullness of the Spirit, ready to share in song, testimony, exhortation, prayer.

As we grew in numbers, I (as pastor, shepherd, manager) needed to moderate the corporate worship. With so many wanting to share their praise, victories, burdens, walk, there was not enough time to accommodate everyone. during a service. I set aside part of the morning and evening service time for parishioners to share.

Though there were several that wanted to testify, sing, exhort, confess their faith and pray, I did not sacrifice the preaching and teaching of the Bible. There were times that God directed our service into song and testimony, but those were exceptional times. The Word of God was central. In fact, it was the preaching and teaching that brought the congregation to a point that they had something, about which they had a song and a testimony.

Participation was for believers, of all ages and in any stage of growth. Though there was great freedom for folks to express their witness, I (as pastor) gave direction if aberrant doctrine or behavior surfaced. In fact, if someone brought errant teaching into the meeting, sometimes I would either stop the witness and move to the next person or even counsel the errant one I would address the individual in a loving, but firm way and I would answer questions as I turned this time into a learning and growing experience for the church. If the person became belligerent, I would stop them and offer to talk with them privately after service. Seldom did we have any negative situations and never did we have one that actually disrupted a service. Our people were loving and kind, and they were able to move forward. They were also able to show kindness toward the one who was bringing confusion into the service.

Though I had to manage the participation, everyone understood that God was in charge of the service and they did not intend to take over or manipulate the meeting. Everyone brought their gifts, talents, abilities under personal control for the greater good. I listened and watched for God's leading during the services. I was willing to add or redirect a service, as God led me. As a helmsman I would steer the fellowship around and through troubled seas, and into friendly and productive currents. I knew what the destination was and I maintained the course, but I was sensitive to the Captain's orders.

It is better for the pastor to manage an enthused and expressive congregation than to have to raise a comatose group. There will be unsaved and backslidden people in services. But the gathering should be primarily the gathering of the living, the loving, the light bearers. Believers ought to be living in joy, peace, power, love and excitement. There should be unity, submission, participation.

Not every service is the same. Some services will be much more serious, heart searching, thought provoking, life challenging than some other services. Some services will be more celebratory than other services. Pastor and parishioners need to be sensitive and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. When the people come in the fullness of the Spirit and when the Holy Spirit has His way with a service, it will be "sitting together in heavenly places." 

But remember, you can't really come to a service in the fullness of the Spirit if you have not been living in the fullness of the Spirit during the previous week. Living in the fullness of the Spirit comes from walking in the Spirit, walking in the light, walking in love, which requires self denial, self discipline and total surrender to God.

It is good if each one comes with a ministry, provided they come in humility and unity with pastor and the body. When this happens on a regular basis, people will know they have been in the presence of God and His people. People will know that they have sat and eaten at the heavenly table.

Rejecting God's Body Life order (which is found in the New Testament and preached by faithful pastors) leads to spiritual Body Integrity Dysphoria, Dr. Strangelove Syndrome, Walking Zombie Syndrome and what I call, the Mindless Puppet Syndrome (among other spiritual, mental, emotional, worldview delusions), which are "transing" the Body of Christ into a gathering of self serving and cannibalizing religionists.

TO RETIRE OR NOT TO RETIRE, THAT IS NOT EVEN A QUESTION
(all things being equal)

"Retirement" erroneously connotes withdrawing from life, doing nothing, being unproductive. Actual "Retirement" from the rat race allows a Christian to seek and serve God more fully, enjoy family more deeply, develop self and ministry more completely.

I watch brother Wade. He did not live for the "system." He worked hard to provide for family and the work of God, but when he "retired," he dove into more meaningful, more productive work opportunities completely. He sees the need of the hour, he sees the need of his family, he sees he need of others, he sees the need of his local church body. As he was able to withdraw from system obligations he invested himself more and more into eternal opportunities.

I watch him and appreciate his vision and commitment, but I am also concerned for his physical expenditure. He is his own boss and he is a faithful worker. He pushes himself because of his love for God. If you are use to an active and aggressive "work life," then you will also pursue an active and aggressive "retirement."

I mention brother Wade because he is the second oldest man in our church (after me) and he has chosen a path that should be taken by all who come to retirement. 

Even our years of earthly employment should be designed for maximum ministry service, but there is a great difference in available time for the person who is having to "make a living," and the person who is, "his own boss." Our "work-a-day" life should not be dedicated to another person's financial or social agenda. While on-the-job we should be loyal and productive, but never be a cog in another person's machinery.

This brings up another aspect. While working for someone else, we should not allow that person, that company, that workforce to mold our thinking, our attachments, our goals, our standards, our family commitments. When you see that you are losing control over the essentials of your life (spiritual, family, moral), you need to look for an exit into a better work situation. The "job" provides the finances for your life. The "job" should not be your life.

This is part of the problem with "retirement;" it comes at the end of our earthly journey, when our strength and health is not at its best. And this is why I encourage people to "retire" from the rat race (regardless of how much they like their job), and invest themselves in the race that God sets before them.

Two men met on the street. One was limping along in great pain. He had been walking along when an eight foot long rattlesnake uncoiled like a rocket, not only sinking his fangs and spreading his deadly poison into the man, but the force was so great it broke the man's leg. The snake-bit man stumbled into the second man who had just left the funeral home, where he was making arrangements for his deceased wife. The man had lost his wife in a fire, which destroyed his home and whatever treasures he had. His children had been taken away by an overzealous Child Protective Service. As the two men sat on the curb, waiting for the ambulance to come help the snake bite victim, a third man walked up. He asked why the men were so distressed. After they poured out their misery the third man told them to cheer up because he had a story that was worse than both of their stories put together. The suffering men sat there as the third man started whining and condemning and accusing and blaming all the problems of society on "the man with the orange hair" and referring to anyone who agreed with anything that Trump said as trash, terrorists, Christian Nationalists, racists, and enemies of God and country.
The hate filled man couldn't even think about anyone's needs or problems without raging against those who disagreed with him. He would rather see people suffer, Bibles burned, family structure destroyed and the country turn Communist than give up his hatred for Trump. The belligerent man is so hateful he can't even think clearly and cannot be reasoned with.
We see it all the time in the Democratic (Socialist) leadership, and the Liberal media, but it is a disorder that has turned our country into Sinsanity and Idiocracy. These people even sacrifice their loved ones on the altar of hatred and self promotion.
Sane people can disagree and hold differing opinions without going berserk and without using every opportunity to attack individuals in the guise of Virtue Signaling. But not these people. They have to a burn-everything (good and bad) to-the-ground mentality and they try to excuse it by wrapping their vitriol in Christian terminology.

Whatever other points a person may argue about the War Between the States, it was not a war of Southern aggression or an attempt to overthrow the USA. Every state had the right to secede. If the South left the Union, as provided by the US Constitution, it would have been a major blow to Northern economy, but it was not an attempted overthrow of the USA. In fact, the one time that the Confederacy did move into the North, during the war, it chose to turn back, because it was not an attempt to overthrow the North. 

I am not excusing the sins of the South or the North. I am pointing out that those who stand for freedom today are being called insurrectionists, terrorists, enemies and threats to the USA. It is a lie. Some folks will give up on freedom because they don't want to be FALSELY called names (R....t, Fascist, Insurrectionist, Deplorable, White Supremacist, Colonialist).

We watched as the oppressors demeaned and destroyed entire regions and periods of American history. Now the same deceptive tactics are being used to usher in a new Civil War, by attacking personal and State rights in this country.

I realize that there was evil in our country in the 1800s and I realize there is evil in our society today. However, do not believe the incendiary propaganda. It will turn people against the good things in our country, it will turn people against other people in our country, it will turn some people in our country against the Christian faith.

Remember (if you actually know history), the War Between the States was not initially about freeing the slaves. Freeing the slaves was the best byproduct of the war. But now there are people using "Virtue Signalling" to rob you of your freedom and your rights.

The seemingly insignificant heir to the British throne is not as insignificant as some folks think. He is about to open another section of Pandora's box, betraying his people by releasing more Paganism, Liberalism, One World-ism than the United Kingdom has already been plagued with. Though she was not perfect, Queen Elizabeth II was a quiet but steady hand as Defender of the Faith. Those days have come to a close, and the King to be has not only denied the Faith and refused to be called the Defender of the Faith, Charles wants to be the Defender of the FaithS. Christianity will not have the same lawful and moral advantages of the past, it will be marched boldly into the One World Religion, as part of the One World Government and One World Economy, more expeditiously than has happened under the influence of the Queen.

I realize that the English Monarchy is not the Government. However, the Crown wields great influence in the entire British Commonwealth. England, Great Britain, the United Kingdom and the British Commonwealth have already suffered irreparable damage by the enemies of Christianity, it is about to intensify, drawing the rest of the world in her wake.

I am not a Royal follower or fan, and as an American, I appreciate that our country threw off the shackles monarchy and peerage. This is a major factor in American exceptionalism. But remember, Britain has not only given the peoples of the world a foundation for self government, jurisprudence, financial stability, social justice but also military stability, which continued with their colonies long after British rule ended.

Britain's attachment to Christianity has been thinned out over the last century and the influx of anti-Christian presence has ended Britain's leadership role in the Christian influence, but now it is about to align more closely with the powers of darkness. Sadly, the people do not want to be Christian or be accepting of Christian faith, therefore they will readily welcome Royal leadership which will lead away from the historic influence of The Church of England and other branches of Christianity.

I hope I am wrong, but the evidence seems to support this sad scenario.

I recently posted that the Monarchial Title, "Defender of the Faith," wouldn't be appropriate to (then) Prince Charles because he had already betrayed and denied Christ. As Charles is on the verge of being crowned King of England, we are reminded that Charles has made it clear in the past that he does not want the Title, "Defender of the Faith."

The Title was not proof of actual faith, but Charles's denouncement indicates apostasy and betrayal of the faith. Though this is an individual's decision it brings immeasurable calamity. England, Great Britain, The United Kingdom will all suffer demonstrably and soon because of this Royal's rejection of The King of Kings. If you wait until your children are a teenagers, to lead them to salvation, you have missed their most important years for learning, development, social formation, establishing a Christian worldview. Not simply my opinion and certainly not contradictory to the revelation of God. WOW, what a terrible waste of time.

If a young person waits until he/she is past their teen years, they have been established in an anti-Christian worldview, been exposed to the vilest speech, behavior, thought processes, destructive philosophies, been set in many fleshly habits, adopted faulty logic and developed a network of anti-Christian friends, mentors, heroes, authorities.

If a young adult waits until they are in their thirties before they get saved, they will have spent their best years, their greatest energy and set their course for their vocational, economic, marital, social interest.

If a young adult waits until their forties to become a Christian they will have wasted over half of their life going in the wrong direction and it will be nearly impossible to turn them back to the way God would have had them go. They will have already led their children in an anti-Christian mindset and lifestyle. They will have habits, which will be nearly impossible to shake. Their stubbornness will make total commitment difficult to accept.

If a person waits until they are in their fifties, they will have lost most of their opportunities to serve God and witness effectively to the lost.

If a person waits until their sixties or seventies they may save their soul but they would have wasted life, at least most of their lifetime, even if they continue to enjoy good health. Still, converting at this late stage is highly unlikely. 

Better trust in the Lord, now.

1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Seeing the Biblically based ceremony of The Church of England, associated with Coronation, royal weddings and funerals, and Vespers at Saint Paul's Cathedral, showcases the beauty of Christian liturgy (prayers, hymns, confessions, Scripture readings) but it is also a reminder that religions and nations which have historic connections with the Christian faith, have exchanged Christ for dead formality.

I remember Prince Charles declaring the validity of Islam within the last decade or two. Remember, the Monarch of England is supposed to be the Defender of the Faith. Though he was not King he was in line for the throne. England, Great Britain, The United Kingdom and The Church of England have long since abandoned and betrayed the cross.

We will probably never see an English Monarch as friendly to the gospel as Queen Elizabeth II.

Sometimes storms or fires or animals or land development leaves sections of land bare. But within a year the vegetation is back and taking over. When property is neglected or abandoned, the "jungle" reclaims it and eventually swallows it, blotting out the evidence that it was anything else, including the work of human artistry.

It is possible for God to share a plan, concerning a life redeemed and conformed to the image of Jesus, or a real estate property designed for and dedicated to life changing ministries.

Lives and ministries can be swallowed up when vision is lost. God allows us to be co-laborers with Christ but He doesn't force our cooperation or participation.

I have beautiful acreage next to my house. But if I were to clear it today it would be well on its way to becoming a runaway jungle in a year.

God expects our investment and involvement, in the development and perfecting of our lives and our ministries. Neglect and abandonment takes the Divine hand out of God's plan for renewal, deliverance, accomplishment.

Catch God's vision and remain faithful to His call, or lose it all to the jungle.

Six years old (1953), sitting with mom and other Scots in my uncle's apartment in L. A., tuned into the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

I know we listened to it, though I was not focused on the event. I cannot definitely say that we watched it on TV (in any format), but I believe we did because I remember images, which were uninteresting to me. We probably did watch it on TV, since my uncle would have owned a TV and invited folks over to celebrate.

I am not being rude, but I did not realize the historic, cultural, international and even spiritual import of the moment. I did think the carriage was cool.

This event is credited with the moment that TV showed it's international broadcasting prowess and future. I do remember, but I wish I had paid closer attention.

It was a Cottonmouth. He was thick bodied, white mouthed and triangular head. Brother Wade saw him while on his various chores around the property. Brother Wade did a great job of finding and getting to it and then dispatching it.

When USMC, USArmy, USN, USAF, USCG stand with POTUS and the POTUS condemns, verbally attacks US Citizens, then those military personnel should immediately turn their back on the POTUS.

People will cry out that it is their duty to not turn. I contend it is their duty to refuse to follow any instruction that is morally repugnant, any order that targets honest, moral American citizens as the enemy of the State.

The German Military and Police were just doing their jobs, so they said. It is doing the devils bidding to oppress the righteous and promote the wicked.

I believe in the military and law enforcement but I believe it is the sword of steel, which God gave to the State to punish the wicked and protect the righteous (lawful). The State does not have the right to make evil good or good evil.

A man's loyalty to the State ends when the "State" wields its power against the lawful, when it wields its power to promote wickedness.

There is no excuse for allowing the State to make you an actual or symbolic threat against the lawful.

Sometimes WINNING is the worst kind of losing.

I saw a video of a German Shepherd Dog saving one of his sheep from a raging river. The first part of the video looked like he was violently attacking another animal, at the rivers edge, in a full out assault. It looked like there would be nothing but blood and guts left. Then he was able to drag the drowning sheep to safety, where it ran to join the flock.

I cried. That is how a loving shepherd fights to rescue sheep that are being carried away by the enemy.

To the sheep, and outside observers, the rescue looked like a deadly attack. But that is how serious it is. Sometimes love seems vicious, cruel because the devil convinces victims and onlookers that the rescuer is their real enemy.

I cried because sometimes the victim, "WINS" the fight against the rescuer, only to be lost to the dark domain forever.

FISHERS OF MEN, IN THE MAKING
One day in August I took Mark Jr, Caleb, Quinten and Timothy fishing together at Conchs Point. I really like this clip because it shows them doing their own thing, while working together. They go right to work with cast nets, bait buckets, as well as hook and line. They have not been doing these activities long, but they are naturals. I have no problem seeing them able to work together on the water, as their ancestors did for centuries, from Scottish Vikings and boat builders to Core Sound whalers, and Promiselanders making their living in commercial and sports fishing boats, along with crabbing, oystering, clamming. I am not suggesting that they choose the hard life of a water-man, though it is an honorable and rewarding life. However, I would like to think that they will work together someday, fishing for men.

If a "Christian's" life does not conform to New Testament standards, then that person should not be a source of Biblical or spiritual training. This is why God calls, equips, anoints, empowers, approves, sends pastors.

When people sidestep God's order they are likely to be misled and the cause of others being led astray from God's truth. This is true for the "self made Bible scholar" in the local church, who chooses to be self taught rather than submit to the leading, discipline and authority of an actually trained and proven pastor, and it also true for the myriad of "teachers" on the public scene, which have veered from Biblical and Historical Christianity and are now teaching a plethora of false doctrines.

The Bible refers to the people as false teachers, false prophets, empty clouds and even as "angels of light,) pointing out that they bring false light.

Come back to the New Testament standard. God appoints pastors to lead, feed, protect, care for the flock of believers. The sheep follow the shepherd, not the other way around.

Don't be surprised when someone (a third, uninvolved party) calls law enforcement because you are sharing the gospel, in a civil way, with an interested person.

Don't be surprised that law enforcement arrives and tells you that you cannot have that conversation.

Don't be surprised if you are told by law enforcement to leave the area.

Don't be surprised when law enforcement threatens to arrest you or take you to jail if you don't stop what you are doing (which is witnessing for Christ).

If you ask what law you are breaking, DON'T be surprised if they tell you, "Aggravating." Yes, you read that right. If you are peacefully conversing with a person, but a third party is offended that you are sharing Christ, they can call the law on you and you could be arrested or taken to jail FOR AGGRAVATING (at least that is the threat, which law enforcement has given to me, in two different States, on two different occasions).

WHAT DID I DO? I refused to stop witnessing. I told them to arrest me or take me to jail. I did not leave the area. And yes, it did get abusive, and threatening and I have thought that I was about to be whacked over the head with a night stick and I did think that two officers were about to physically accost me and I did think that I was about to go to jail). But I stood firm and even used the occasion to witness to those who were watching the police abuse of power and violation of my freedom and my allegiance to Jesus Christ.

Note this... People around you can be wearing shirts with vile, profane, offensive images, slogans, or they can be speaking with profane, obscene, vile, obnoxious language (which might actually be illegal), but the chance of law enforcement addressing that situation is almost nil. In fact, you and your wife and your children will probably be told by law enforcement to leave the area, but they probably will not take action against the actual law breakers and perverts who are taking over public space.

Yes, there are still decent law enforcers who will not encroach on Christian rights and behavior, but the thin blue line between decency and offenders is getting thinner.

If you turn to others for advice, such as preachers, law enforcement, lawyers, government leaders (local, State and Federal), the man on the street and the man in the pew, they will usually tell you to obey man, obey the State. Sometimes God leads us away from or out of these kinds of situation, but God's unchanging standard is obeying God rather than men.

Yes, as we move further from a free society into a godless, oppressive, anti-Christian society we (as Christians will need to be wise as serpents as well as harmless as doves and as bold as lions). But we never come to a point that we obey men rather than God. We may not enjoy the freedoms we should have, but we never compromise the Lordship of Christ over our lives.

Remember, this is not about religious stubbornness, or "standing for our rights," or trying to, SAVE AMERICA. This is about keeping a conscience void of offense and submitting to only one God. We should stand for truth, in love, in humility, in willingness to suffer for our faith rather than to inflict suffering on others.

Teachers of sinning religion claim that God's glory is diminished when God's grace gives believers victory over all sin. They claim that victory over sin is a man centered doctrine, theology, even when it is acknowledged that our victory over sin is from God, dependent on God, for the glory of God.

For instance, it is right to say that God should be the source and center and goal of our faith. It is wrong to say that God does not save us from all sin; it is wrong to say that God does not purify us completely, it is wrong to say that we don't conquer our enemies, it is wrong to say that we are not perfected in love and some other Christian graces.

If your focus on the glory of God ends with His nature and excludes His work, His salvation, His victory over sin, Satan, self and death, then your are not giving God the glory He deserves. In fact, you are robbing God of His glory.

My rejection of ministries like, Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation is not so much because their songs are always errant or corrupt. Often times the lyrics are very good, however, the fountain from which they flow is polluted with paganism and streams away from Biblical truth and Biblical salvation, carrying the unsuspecting to a cesspool of spiritual poison. It is not enough to speak a good message if your are attached to an evil source. You must come out from that group and align with Bible truth. God gets no glory when it is attached to deceivers.

I am not impressed with supposed reformed groups or individuals who claim Biblical salvation, but continue with SDA, LDS, WWC/G, WoF, RCC, CoE. When a movement has abandoned Biblical faith, it is past time to abandon that group. Don't wait for the movement to turn to Christ. LEAVE IT. Don't wait for the leadership to turn to the Bible. LEAVE IT. This is true for pastors and parishioners, true for individuals and segments of a denomination. LEAVE IT. This is true for those who are part of a very strong Biblical history as a denomination. This is true, regardless of the length of time you have been part of that movement. This is true, regardless of how long your family has been a Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Nazarene, Quaker, Mennonite. If and when your denomination moves away from truth, it is time to move away from that sinking ship.

Come out from among them and be separate. Do not align with the unfruitful ways of darkness. Your life is too short, your ministry is too limited to corrupt it and associate it with enemies of the cross.
